Welcome to Civitaluparella
The town of Civitaluparella is located on a rocky outcrop on the southern slope of Monte Lupari. Its territory extends nearby the Sangro river and the stream Parello. Preserving perfectly the original structure, the small village of Civitaluparella, officially attests its origin in 1115, through the writings of Pope Paschal II. The village became a fief which changed ownership in property, until it became owned by the Caldora family until the early 19th century, which implemented several improvements to the defence. Through narrow alleys and staircases it is possible to reach Piazza Marconi, the Town Hall and the parish church dedicated to San Pietro, from where to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. Climbing on the highest part of the village, it is still possible to visit the remains of the residence of Caldora overlooking evocative woods, as the forest Difesa and the woods of the Cese, that frame two small lakes, the Panther Lake and the Torretta lake. A peasant event is the Borgodi Gusto (Village of Taste) where people can taste food and wine of ancient folk traditions and listen to live music.
