Welcome to Palombaro
The town of Palombaro faces in a panoramic position overlooking the valley of the Avello torrent and has the first written news of Palumbarium that date back to the 12th century, when the town was a fief, although some finds confirm the presence of habitation since Roman times, destroyed by the Hungarians in 1417. Among the points of interest to visit there is the Cave of St. Angelo, one of the many caves of Abruzzo, which hosts inside the church dedicated to Saint Agatha of Ugno, the churches of San Rocco, of Santa Maria dellaSerra and the one of San Salvatore and also the Menna Palace. The events of the village to which it's not to be missed are the feast of San Domenico on the first Sunday in June, the Festival dedicated to San Antonio on August 14 and the Patron Saint celebrations on August 15, where to taste typical dishes of the local cuisine.
