Welcome to Montebello Sul Sangro
The town of MontebellosulSangro is set on a ridge. In the 12th century, the small town was called Malanoctem, i.e. Malanotte, became the ancient village of Buonanotte until 1969, when it assumed its present name. Dominating the Val diSangro, a few meters from the clear waters of Bomba Lake, the small medieval town is divided into two parts, the old one by now abandoned due to a severe landslide that is slowly destroying everything, and the new one, not far, sarised on the eastern slope of Monte Vecchio. Among the events of the town of Montebello there are the feast days dedicated to St. Cyriacus on March 16th, to the Madonna June 11th, to Santa Giusta August 7th and August 8th the big festival dedicated to the Patron Saint.
