Welcome to Gamberale
Between beech, fir, and oak forests, the town of Gamberale is located to the left of the middle Valley of the Sangro River, on a rocky outcrop that juts out on three sides. Formerly became as a fief in medieval times. Passing from family to family until the abolition of feudalism, this small village of Abruzzo is part of the world war II since it was occupied by German troops between 1943 and 1945. Is with awarded the silver medal of civil merit. Located in the highest part of the town there is the Castle, of medieval origins, built on an existing Church, in its vicinity you can admire CasaPollice, dating back to the 16th century and numerous and particular fountains located throughout the village. In the square of Gamberale stands the parish church of San Lorenzo Martire, which was built in the early 18th century. The summer months are devoted mainly to the festivities in honour of San Lorenzo, on August 10th.
