Opened to the public in 2002, the diocesan museum of Lanciano is one of the most important museums for sacred art. It is hosted by the large rooms (on the second floor) of the important palace of the seminary. Its almost 1,000-square-metre display area hosts important evidence of centuries of the local Church: paintings, sculptures, jewels, vestments, ex voto, wooden furniture, embroideries, manuscripts, precious ligature. These objects – dating from the 12th to the 20th centuries – come from the cathedral, the local churches and the seminary itself.
