Situated in the historic centre of the small town of Focaccesia, just a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast and the mouth of the river Sangro, the Church of San Rosario was created in 1876 by the congregation of Rosario and the Santissima Annunziata. On the façade created in brick and divided horizontally into two parts there is a tympanum surrounded by a cornice within which is a metallic clock. On the fist level is the only entrance into the church, with a decoration with commemorative stones and a cross above, on the sides of the entrance two commemorative stones recall some of the illustrious citizens of Focaccesia. Above the cornice, on the second level there are four Ionic lesenes with stone capitals. The interior is composed of a single nave subdivided into three bays, each of these with piers – or square bottomed columns- supporting an entablature. Above these piers are the ribs of the barrel-vaulted ceiling. The cantoria is lined with two marble columns and two Doric style semi columns at the entrance. A step separates the rest of the church from the altar.
