The “Percorso dei Sensi” (Senses Path) is an itinerary through the San Giovanni in Venere Abbey and the Casa Museo di Palazzo Mayer; it concludes with a tasting of typical local products. It starts from the Abbey sits on a hill dominating the Adriatic coastline. The first nucleus was built by Benedictine monks between the 6th and 7th centuries AD on the ruins of an ancient pagan temple dedicated to Venus, while the current building is due to the abbot Oderisio II (1155-1204). The building complex includes monastery with the cloister and the Church characterized by three naves. The "Path" continues with a visit to Palazzo Mayer and the Casa Museo that inside contains furniture, antique artefacts, evidence of social and cultural life of the territory and a permanent exhibition about the Second World War in Fossacesia and surrounding area.
