The Museum of Costume and Tradition in Guardiagrele is one of the city's most significant cultural institutions. Established in the 1980s thanks to the dedication of local enthusiasts, the museum provides a valuable testimony to rural and artisanal life between the 19th and 20th centuries, a crucial period in the history of Guardiagrele.

With approximately seven hundred artifacts, the museum tells the story of two fundamental aspects of past life in Guardiagrele: the patriarchal family, with its rhythms, traditions, and emotional bonds, and the community of workers, represented through images and tools that depict traditional trades that have now disappeared.

The museum rooms recreate typical settings of domestic and artisanal life. The kitchen is a meticulous reconstruction of a traditional environment, featuring an oven, fireplace, cupboards, and baking utensils, along with a space dedicated to spinning and weaving activities, complete with a loom and other tools. The bedroom, on the other hand, showcases marriage and dowry traditions, with a section dedicated to women's clothing and handcrafted jewelry worn on special occasions.

The arts and crafts hall celebrates local craftsmanship, displaying antique tools used by cabinetmakers, carpenters, dyers, shoemakers, ceramists, chair-makers, coppersmiths, and master blacksmiths, highlighting the ingenuity and skill of Guardiagrele’s workers.
