The Apennine Chamois Wildlife Area has been opened in Lama dei Peligni in 1990 as part of the reintroduction of the Apennine chamois over the Majella. The area, which today allows educational and scientific activities, offers, through an easy route, the opportunity to observe from a short distance some specimens of this ungulate. Located at an altitude of 770m above sea level, close to the town, it has a very varied morphology and vegetation: steep cliffs, small grassy slopes and vegetation of various kinds. The sighting by the naked eye of these specimens is not always obvious, but by booking a guided tour you can use optical instruments to facilitate the sight of the 15 Apennine chamois species present in the area.
