In a resort setting, called "Madonna delle Rose", on a hill overlooking the valley of the Aventino, rises the Sanctuary of santa Maria del Roseto, which was built in 1550, as attested by an inscription on the lintel of the entrance. As of today the building still retains the typical features of the Renaissance.
The facade, of simple design, has a gable crowning highlight in a small bell tower that stands at its center. The slopes follow a convex line and are enriched by a triple row of blocks of pure convex. On the sides of the portal there are two small openings at eye level, typical of the churches located in isolated places. The "windows" allowed travelers to appear into the church to say a prayer. The portal has the doorposts and the lintel decorated with bands, and surmounted br an arch with a bezel in the center of which protudes a small rose. In the inside it has only one aisle, distinguished by an arch with two spans, of which the first one is reserved for the faithful, while the second one is the presbytery; this one is considerably elevated above the plan of the front. The superior altar is made entirely of brightly painted stucco in imitation of valuable marble.
Within a niche is located an ancient statue of the Madonna and Child.
