The Church of St. James is known from historical records since the twelfth century, but nothing is known of its original appearance. It underwent several changes during the following times and during World War II suffered severe damage, like the whole town of Torricella Peligna, so it had to be partly rebuilt in the second half of the twentieth century. The facade, which reflects the Renaissance Style, is in its tripartite positioned in its interior of the Church, which is between aisles. In the middle you can see two pairs of pillars, Doric below and Ionic above. A window with a curved pendiment dominates the doorway at the center of the facade, where above is closed by a ledge well gabled.
Note also the structural differences between the central portal and the two lateral. The tower is divided into two sections vertically by a frame and is concluded by a monofore cell. In the inside a series of pillars divides the center aisle from the lateral, above the arches, supporting rectangular pillars fragio smooth on shells, which runs around the whole perimeter of the aisle until the semicicular apse. Different covers of aisles: the larger barrel is covered with lunettes, while the smaller have vaults of each bell. The decorations are made with fillars mostly white, sometimes golden.
