The country Pennadomo, 430 meters above sea level, stands next to a cliff of reddish color and is lapped by the river St. Leo, which before flowing into Lake Bomba forms a picturesque waterfall, called the Great Jar. As if to guard the town high rocky peaks rise , which in ancient times offered a safe haven to bands of brigands. These are real giants of stone to mark the picturesque landscape of Pennadomo: they form what is called the "cliff", a point of great attraction to sports people who loves climbing rocks, but also of rare scenic beauty for tourists in general. These rocky outcrops emerging from layers of clay, arranged vertically, are the result of prehistoric sedimentation of seas, now disappeared, and subsequent geological transformations. One of the protagonists of climbing, Giorgio Ferretti, was the first to discover the potential of Pennadomo; by scaling vertical walls and smooth, devoid of vegetation, Ferretti conquered them one by one and endowed with names which are now well known by sportsmen: Paretone Resegone, SmokyTop, Oasis are walls that have medium or high difficulty level. The satisfaction of winning, with the tension in muscles and the ability of the supports, the arduous ascent is accompanied by the satisfaction of admiring the sweeping panorama of Pennadomo that the territory can offer.
