In the small square of Montenerodomo stands the church of San Martino, built, according to sources of local history in the fourteenth century. Benedetto Croce in his essay dedicated to the country of origin of his paternal ancestors succinctly describes the place where this church lies: "a narrow open space between the two houses, at the end the church of San Martino" and he describes it as "the heart of small land Montenerodomo ". As regards the structure of the building, is to note the use of poor materials, perhaps derived from the same area as the limestone blocks not always squared, mixed with some element of bricks. The portal that opens into the facade is also in stone and is closed by a round arch. On the side a two small square openings similar to "Fenestrelle devotionis" which often are on the facades of rural churches, destined for travelers eager to look inside to say a prayer. The portal has another window of circular design, which is also framed in stone. Above, the front is closed by a horizontal entablature consists of three rows of tiles in staggered arrangement. Above the cornice rises a small bell tower.Inside, the hall used for religious services has a rectangular perimeter. As recalled by Benedetto Croce, near the Church of San Martino lies one of the two gates of the village, while the other was at the opposite end of town, next to the Church of Santa Giusta, then disappeared.
