On an imposing crest that overlooks the Sangro valley, in a very strategic place with a marvellous landscape, you will find the majestic walls of Mount Pallano: a circuit that is now visible for 160 m – and in some sections preserved in its total 5-metre height – featuring three narrow gates. This strong fortress, probably built by the ancient Lucanians of Sangro, featured many presences within, including the settlement in the southern small valley, with a porticoed forum surrounded by several rooms. Set on the border of the mountain and surrounded by lush scrub, the megalith walls of Mount Pallano create a unique path that includes the perfume of nature and the ancient charm of history.
