
Welcome to Perano
The town of Perano is situated on a small hill to the right of the Sangro river and it extends for 6,28 km ², on an area intensively cultivated, from which to enjoy landscapes and breathtaking views. Historical information that come up to us, date back to the ninth century, when the ancient village of Peranum was under the jurisdiction of the Abbey of San Clemente in Casauria. Later came under jurisdiction of Santa Maria of Tremiti and San Giovanni in Venere, becoming later a fief of the Congregation of St Philip Neri from Rome. In the town of Peranothere are numerous and ancient churches, among the most important ones there is the one of Saint Thomas the Apostle, of San Giuseppe Artigiano and of Saint Anthony of Padua. In addition, in the town square, stands the 18th century Palazzocomunale. In this authentic village of Italy takes place annually in late October, the itinerant Festival of Borgodi Vino with tasting of typical dishes and wines and gala of the best wines of Abruzzo.
